LEAVE MANAGEMENT

Approve Leave Once. Attendance And Payroll Follow.

Configurable leave types, running balances employees can see, and approvals routed through your org hierarchy. Approved leave carries into attendance and the pay run, so HR stops reconciling them by hand.

THE PROBLEM

Leave Requests Get Lost In Email Threads

When leave lives in email and spreadsheets, approvals stall, balances are checked only when someone disputes them, and payroll inherits every mismatch at month-end.

  • Inconsistent policy. paid leave, carry-forward and encashment rules get applied differently when there is no central rule set.

  • Approvals lack hierarchy scoping. without My/Team/All views tied to the reporting tree, requests reach the wrong manager or sit unrouted.

  • Balances checked on request. employees email HR to ask how many days remain instead of seeing a live running balance themselves.

  • Leave, attendance and payroll out of step. absences are re-checked by hand each month, so approved leave is double-counted or unpaid days are missed.

CAPABILITIES

What BizzField Leave Management Covers

Four capabilities that carry a leave request from policy to approval to payroll, on the same employee record.

Configurable Leave Types

Configure casual, sick, earned, maternity, and custom leaves with carry-forward limits and accrual schedules set once and applied consistently.

Hierarchy-Scoped Approvals

My / Team / All approval views automatically scoped by the org hierarchy, ensuring requests reach the actual reporting manager without manual forwarding.

Running Balances Visible Upfront

Employees see their live balance before they apply, which cuts the balance-inquiry emails HR would otherwise answer.

Encashment Against Live Balances

Leave encashment is calculated from the live leave balance, and the approved amount flows into the payroll cycle or the exit settlement.

HOW IT WORKS

From Leave Request To Attendance And Payroll

A leave request moves through four stages, and attendance and payroll read the result, which reduces month-end reconciliation.

  1. Step 01

    Apply Against Configured Type

Employees select an eligible leave type with running balances, policy ceilings, and upcoming holiday conflicts displayed upfront.
    • Configurable leave rules apply consistently from the first submission.
  2. Step 02

    Hierarchy-Scoped Routing

The request routes automatically through My/Team/All views scoped strictly to the org reporting lines, avoiding misplaced approvals.
    • Managers see their team's requests without manual forwarding.
  3. Step 03

    Live Balance Adjustment

The employee's running balance updates as soon as approval is logged, so there is no spreadsheet to keep in step.
    • Balances update in real time with an auditable history.
  4. Step 04

    Attendance And Payroll Sync

Approved leave appears on the attendance record and feeds the pay run, so absences are not counted twice. Absence beyond approved leave goes to payroll as leave without pay.
    • Encashable balance carries into the pay run or the exit settlement.

WHO USES THIS

Built For High-Headcount & Shift Teams

Leave policies and approval routing matter most where headcount, shift rosters, or multi-location teams make manual tracking risky.

Retail & Ecommerce

Large store teams, frequent joiners and leavers, and approvals routed to store-level managers.

Healthcare

Round-the-clock shift rosters, where approved leave has to show on attendance records that managers can rely on.

IT & ITES

Distributed teams and fast-moving reporting lines, with approvals that follow the hierarchy as it changes.

FAQ

Leave Management — Frequently Asked Questions

It covers configurable leave types with carry-forward rules, approvals routed through your org hierarchy, live balance tracking, leave encashment calculations, and the hand-off of approved leave to attendance and payroll.

Leave management is included in the Starter plan, together with employee lifecycle management, attendance & shift tracking, timesheets, and org hierarchy.

Yes. Approved leave is reflected in the employee's attendance record and carried into the pay run calculation, so leave is not tracked in a separate sheet or counted twice.

Approvals follow the reporting relationships defined in your org hierarchy through My/Team/All views, so nobody has to forward a request by hand.

Yes. Employees see a real-time running balance on desktop and mobile, including pending requests and accrued days, so they do not need to ask HR.

Leave encashment is calculated from the live leave balance using the formula rules you configure, and the approved amount flows into the pay run or the exit settlement.

Approved leave is carried into attendance and the pay run. Absence beyond approved leave, including an exhausted balance, goes to payroll as leave without pay (loss of pay). Leave encashment flows into the pay run or the exit settlement.

Recording the exit starts the full and final settlement. The encashable balance is pulled from the live leave balance and settled alongside final salary, notice-period recovery and any outstanding loan balance.

Yes. HR configures leave types such as casual, sick, earned, maternity and paternity leave with accrual rates, carry-forward limits, lapse rules and sandwich-rule handling. The rules are set once and applied consistently to every request.

AUTOMATED CHECKS

Variance Checks Before Payroll Is Approved

Before a pay run is approved, BizzField compares the draft with the previous cycle and flags what looks wrong, so reviewers examine the exceptions instead of every line.

PRE-APPROVAL SCAN

Automated Variance Checks

Key Capabilities

  • Each employee's draft pay compared with the prior month
  • Pay movement above 20% flagged for review
  • Duplicate leave and expense submissions detected
  • Flags resolved from one HR queue before approval

Every draft run is compared with the previous cycle. Sharp pay movements, duplicate expense or leave submissions and timesheet conflicts are flagged for HR, who resolve each flag from a single queue while the run is still a draft.

SECURITY & PRIVACY

Role-Scoped Access And Privacy By Design

Access is enforced on the server from the reporting hierarchy, and data handling is designed around the principles of India's DPDPA. The security page sets out what is and is not certified.

DATA PRIVACY

DPDPA-Informed Data Handling

Key Capabilities

  • Consent logging for employee data
  • Data export for the employee
  • Deletion rights supported

Data handling is designed around the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. That describes how data is handled; it is not a certification.

Key Capabilities

  • Server-side role-based access, not just interface-level visibility
  • Manager visibility limited to their reporting hierarchy
  • AES-256 encryption at rest for employee records, bank details and document files

Role flags are not left to the front end. Access is scoped on the server, so a manager retrieves records only within their own reporting tree.
