FAQ
CTC Calculator — Questions We Get Asked
No. It is an illustrative estimate built on common CTC-structuring conventions (40% Basic, statutory PF ceiling) and it excludes income tax. Your actual breakup depends on your employer's salary structure policy.
HRA is commonly structured at 50% of Basic in metro cities and 40% of Basic in non-metro cities. Choose the city type and the calculator applies that percentage.
The employer pays 12% PF plus a 0.5% administrative charge plus 0.5% EDLI, capped at the ₹15,000/month statutory wage ceiling. It counts towards your CTC but is not deducted from your take-home.
Not as a fixed formula. This calculator uses common conventions for a quick estimate. In BizzField HRMS payroll, each employee's breakup comes from the salary structure assigned to them, and every pay run applies current statutory rates.
Because 40% is a common structuring convention, not a rule. Your employer may set a different split.
No. It uses a fixed 40% Basic and applies the PF ceiling to Basic. Under the Code on Wages, in effect since 21 November 2025, non-wage allowances above 50% of total remuneration count as wages for PF and gratuity, so a structure built to that rule can differ from this estimate. BizzField payroll applies the rule automatically.
It is an illustrative figure, so the take-home shows a Professional Tax deduction. Professional Tax is set by each state, so your actual slab depends on your work location.
